iKON leaves YG Entertainment as a group

iKON chose to break the good news to fans iKONICs first through the fan community Weverse.


On December 30, YG Entertainment announces iKON will be leaving the company after 7 years in a mutual agreement. YG Entertainment wrote:


We would like to announce that after a long and careful discussion with iKON (Kim Jinhwan, BOBBY, Song Yunhyeong, Koo Junhoe, Kim Donghyuk, Jung Chanwoo), we all have mutually agreed to end the exclusive management contract in respect of each other’s opinions.


Apart from the end of the contract, all six members will act as a group: iKON. In addition, iKON will continuously interact with fans through their official channels including Weverse, the fan community service, as usual.


We would like to express sincere appreciation to iKON for being with us as YG artist.

YG Entertainment will always look forward to their activities in diverse fields and wish the best for the members in the future.


Also, we would like to deeply thank all iKONIC for accompanying iKON on their journey.

Please keep giving warm attention and support to iKON members who are about to start a new phase of their journey.


iKON also expressed their desire to stay together as a group and considers creating a company. Fans iKONICs celebrated the news and trended tags such as #iKONFreedom and HAPPY iKON INDEPENDENCE DAY.

iKON's Donghyuk grace the New York Fashion Week runway

Donghyuk takes the ramp as a special model for street-style fashion brand UL:KIN at the New York Fashion Week Concept Korea Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show. The awaited moment is finally here! Early this morning at 8 AM KST Donghyuk officially debuted as a ramp model. Donghyuk carries the brand UL:KIN, a sustainable fashion brand which he collaborated with for a collection recently.
